Cut your grocery bill in HALF !!!! So every now and then I stumble upon a really great idea.... and say.. Why didnt I do that ? and I am sure you do as well. But I always feel a little better when I see that it is a local effort from a small business guy, and not just another "thing" from Corporate America. Enter Savings Angel:
The story goes: A family in Michigan decides that they are tired of never really being able to get any real savings when it comes to their grocery budget. They seem to be able to cut a little everywhere else (except gas), but their grocery bill stays pretty consistent. So they go into thinktank, and comes up with the idea that if they match a good coupon with a good sale they must be able to save more. Now, how do you do that practically ? The husband, having a background in IT, automates the process by implementing it into a database. After having seen the model work for a while they decide that others can benefit from the same model, so they decide to make it available online, and the rest is, as they say, History... So last month Michelle and I decided to join, and it really works. I continually asks Michelle if she feels it is working, and the answer is yes, it makes her use coupons she wouldnt have before. SavingsAngel.com isnt providing some magic formula to save money, but they provide a INVALUABLE tool to shop more effectively, allowing you to save money.
